소울아트스페이스는 2005년 개관이래 가능성 있는 국내 작가들을 발굴, 지원하며 부산지역의 차별화된 문화적 특징과 정체성을

토대로 현재 구서와 해운대 두 지점을 운영 중이다. 참신한 기획과 함께 김덕기, 김덕용, 이명호, 이이남, 이정륵, 임상빈, 하상림, 최

영욱 등 국내 중견 작가들의 작품을 비롯하여 에바 알머슨, 압바스 키아로스타미와 같이 국내는 물론 국제적으로 인정받고 있는 작

가의 전시도 선보였다.

2010년, 부산의 아름다운 자연환경과 문화를 함께 즐길 수 있는 현대적인 공간을 해운대에 오픈하여 최상의 전시환경을 제공함과

동시에 관람객에게 한발 더 다가가는 전시를 선보일 수 있게 되었으며, 2016년에는 구서점을 리뉴얼하여 소울아트랩을 설립, 주목

하는 작가를 다각도로 조명하고 심도 있게 연구하는 한편 미술계의 현안을 논의하며 지역 갤러리의 차별화된 플랫폼으로써의 역할

에도 전념하고 있다.

소울필름을 모태로 하고 있는 갤러리 소울아트는 우리의 전통 철학과 정신을 현대미술의 어법으로 새롭게 해석한 아티스트들의 작

품을 지속적으로 소개해왔다. 작가지원프로그램, 워크샵, 작품설명회 등을 꾸준히 개최하였고, 전시와 연계한 음악회, 영화상영회

등의 행사를 통해 다양한 만남과 풍성한 담론을 형성해나가고 있다. 미술시장의 흐름에 발맞추어 해외 아트페어에 참여하여 국내

역량 있는 작가들을 국제무대에 소개하고, 현지 작가들과 교류하며 새로운 예술문화를 만들어나가는데 힘쓰고 있다.

소울아트는 새로운 영감과 감동을 주는 아티스트와 관람객에게 언제나 열려있는 소통의 공간이다. 앞으로도 국내 미술계에 활력을

불어넣을 뿐 아니라 활동영역을 국제적으로 넓혀 큰 비전을 가진 화랑으로 거듭나고자 최선을 다할 것이다.

Since its opening in 2005, Soul Art Space has discovered and supported Korean artists. Grounded on the distinctive cultural

characteristics and identities found in the city of Busan, the gallery operates out of two branches in Guseo and Haeundae. Along

with innovative exhibitions, Soul Art Space has been continuously showcasing exhibitions by prominent artists including Dukki

Kim, Duckyong Kim. Myoungho Lee, Leenam Lee, Jeonglok Lee, Sangbin Im and Youngwook Choi. In addition to Korean artists,

we have also organized exhibitions with internationally renown artists such as Eva Armisen and Abbas Kiarostamni.

Soul Art Space opened its two-story location in Haeundae in 2010. Along with the increased space to accommodate more

viewers, our gallery provides an opportunity to simultaneously enjoy Busan's beautiful landscape and a state-of-the-art

exhibition space. In 2016, Soul Art Space re-established its Gu-seo branch as Soul Art & Film Institute Lab, which focuses more

in-depth on the different dimensions of individual artists. Our lab is focused on organizing discussions on current issues in the

art industry and serves the role of an innovative art platform in the region.

Soul Art, dating back to its years operating as Sou. Film. has showcased works of artists who have re-interpreted traditional

Korean philosophy and spirit through the language of modern art. It offers residential artist support programs, workshops, and

informational sessions. It also creates creative platforms for dialogue and interactions through music concerts and film showing,

in addition to the art exhibits. In order to promote Korean artists to international audiences and interact with promising artists

abroad, our team plans to actively participate in various international art fairs.

Soul Art Space is always open to viewers who want to be moved by art and artists who strive for inspiration. We will continue

our best to not only vitalize the regional art industry but also to establish itself as a gallery with an international scope and

vision.
